Battle of the Books: General Information *All participants will select from 10 books that cover a wide variety of literary genres and were selected by Adams12 Teacher Librarians. In order to compete in the Battle of the Books, students must read at least 5 of the books and write 10 quality questions for each book they read based on the content of story. Students become "experts" on the 5 books they read and participate in the competition on a team of 4-6 students, who are "experts" on their 5 books. *The competition is set up like a quiz show. Teams are given a question that begins with the phrase, "In which book...", which must be answered with both the correct title and author of the book to which the question refers.Correct answers earn 5 points for the title and 5 points for the author. There are 24 questions for each round of competition, with each team answering 12 questions. If a team gives an incorrect answer, the other team has the opportunity to answer the question and can "steal" the points with a correct answer. In the case of a tie score at the end of 24 question, the competition continues with a tie breaker round
